We’re still getting inspiration from Sofia Richie’s wedding
Although the celebrity-packed wedding of Sofia Richie and Elliot Grainge was just over a year ago, the internet (and our team) still can’t stop talking about it. It’s become the blueprint for uber-rich brides trying to stake their claim as an influencer (we’re looking at you, Madelaine Brockway) and it’s not hard to see why.

Richie held her four-day extravaganza in the South of France complete with ultra-chic details, including three custom Chanel couture dresses and a club-themed reception. Although many of those details might be unattainable for us regular people, wedding and event designer Angela DiVincenti Babin of Angela Marie Events explains that you can pull inspiration from anywhere and anyone. Get her advice for utilizing elements from Richie’s wedding in a more budget-friendly way below.
The Location: Chateau in the South of France
Although we have extensive French influence and heritage here in Louisiana, chateaus are sadly few. “The Longue Vue House and Gardens in New Orleans is a beautiful estate with a similar vibe,” Babin says. And although the owners are typically opposed to using the historic property as a wedding venue, it could make a great space for a bridal luncheon or bridal pre-party.
The Details: Touches of black
The simplistic black and white color palette throughout the ceremony and reception made the decadent details all the more awe-worthy. “Touches of black were actually trending when I got married 12 years ago,” Babin jokes. But there’s no doubt that the all-white flowers alongside black bridesmaid dresses elevated the overall look and feel of their big day.

The Florals: Exquisite but expensive
While Richie’s Lilly of the Valley bridal bouquet was tiny, Angela says it can be one of the most expensive, along with the orchids and other florals used in her over-the-top arrangements seen throughout the wedding. “Depending on the time of year, bridal veil mixed with greenery could be a good budget-friendly alternative,” she says, “It’s a very airy, light and sweet floral you can easily use to capture the same feel.”
