A vibrant art collection is at the heart of the home from our October cover story

As Garth Brooks (and most of the city) proudly sang in Tiger Stadium, “Operator, won’t you put me on through? I gotta send my love down to Baton Rouge.”

For LSU alumni Rip and Suzie Reeves, the decision to move back to their home state came down to two options: Baton Rouge and New Orleans. A teaching job offer from LSU sealed the deal, and the couple found themselves Callin’ Baton Rouge.

Our October cover story explores Rip and Suzie Reeves’ recently renovated home situated steps away from the LSU Lakes and campus. Their art collection is gallery-worthy, with every wall adorned with artwork from artists including Lynn Garceau, Mose Tolliver, Howard Finster, Missionary Mary L. Proctor and many, many more.
