What to do this weekend: Take flight at Kite Fest BR
The sun is shining and the weather is perfect. You know what that means… It’s time to get out of the house. Baton Rouge has so many fun upcoming events, including the Kite Fest BR happening this Sunday.
Each year, the Gardere Initiative collaborates with BREC and Our Lady of the Lake to host the Kite Fest. This event is open to the public, so grab your friends and your kiddos for a day of fun outdoors with the community.
The festival kicks off on March 30 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Hartley/Vey Park at Gardere. Guests can expect a kite-flying competition, workshops, kite-making, local food vendors and more.
“We want Kite Fest to be a fun time for our community and raise support for our programs that benefit the children and families living in Gardere.” — Cindy Sonbuchner, operational directer of Kite Fest.
