Local chefs to compete at Slow Food’s Fall Heat this weekend
Slow Food Baton Rouge will host its fourth annual Fall Heat fundraising event this Sunday, October 16, from 4 to 7 p.m. Guests will enjoy small plates and signature cocktails from local chefs and mixologists at the LSU AgCenter’s Botanic Gardens.
At this farm-to-table event, participating chefs will use ingredients from Louisiana growers. Attendees can vote for their favorite dishes and drinks to receive People’s Choice awards, and a group of judges will also select first and second place winners.
Fall Heat’s proceeds will go to Greauxing Healthy Baton Rouge, a hands-on gardening, food and nutritional education program created for local schools. Adult tickets are $40 and may be purchased here; children under 12 will be admitted free. Visit SFBR’s website for more details on the organization and Fall Heat.
