Blues Fest to bring big names and old favorites
The Baton Rouge Blues Festival will fill the streets of downtown Baton Rouge with music for the 22nd year in a row this weekend, bringing several new musical acts with it.
The lineup includes performers including Buddy Guy, Latimore, Kenny Neal and the Neal Family, Walter “Wolfman” Washington & the Roadmasters, Henry Gray, Henry Turner Jr. & Flavor, and many more.
In addition to the music, local restaurants will offer tasty fare, and art vendors including Beneath the Bark Jewelry, Mimosa Handcrafted and The Metalsmith will share their creations. Other booths will feature items from a wide range of vendors including Wanderlust by Abby, Bengals & Bandits, and Son of a Slovenian.
The event is free to the public and family-friendly. Special VIP tickets are available and include extensive perks like exclusive entry into private viewing areas adjacent to the stages, re-entry privileges, food from City Pork, unlimited sodas and bottled water, a private restroom, access to the 12 Bar lounge area, complimentary shaving and styling services by Micah Nickens of Gaudet Bros., free admission to the LSU Museum of Art for the weekend, a one-year membership to the Baton Rouge Blues Foundation, six “golden tickets” to the 2016 Louisiana International Film Festival, and more.
