Since Zee Zee’s opened in January 2023 in the spot once occupied by George’s, it has been a fresh option for Perkins Road Overpass fans. Craft cocktails, reliable beer options and a recently updated dining menu are giving patrons a reason to linger at the stylish watering hole longer, says owner Aaron “Mugsy” Saulnier. Dinner items like Chef Elliott Darensbourg’s new sizzle platters are part of the draw. Grilled chicken, New Orleans-style barbecue shrimp, ribeye or filet arrive sizzling on cast iron plates along with grilled vegetables.

They’re accompanied by a stuffed potato and a side salad. “It’s been a big seller,” Darensbourg says. It’s also a great value. Tuesdays and Thursdays feature “steak night” specials on the two beef options.
