Kick off the holiday season with Baton Rouge’s Festival of Lights tomorrow, December 2, from 5 to 9 p.m. Local art vendors, a snow village, magical train rides and many more activities will be set up throughout the downtown area. Check out visitbatonrouge.com for more details.

The LSU Rural Life Museum will host its annual “A Rural Life Christmas” this Sunday, December 4, from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. This 19^th-century Louisiana celebration will feature storytellers, costumed re-enactors and live music. Regular admission will be charged, and children age 10 and younger enter free.

Sarah Liberta, culinary herbalist, writer and recent winner of the Helen de Conway Little Medal of Honor from the Herb Society of America, will host the last of her “Cooking with Herbs” classes at Red Stick Spice Company next Wednesday, December 7, from 1 to 3 p.m. Save your spot here to make sure you don’t miss a step this holiday season, with lessons in Rosemary Walnuts, Five-Minute Lemon Curd, Flavored Sugars and Herbal Syrups.

Enjoy a family bike ride up the levee from Skip Bertman Drive to downtown Baton Rouge at BREC’s Reindeer Ride tomorrow, December 2, from 6 to 8 p.m. The trail will lead you to downtown’s Festival of Lights, where you can be a part of the colorful bike parade.
