#GiveBR promotes giving back locally this holiday season
Hashtags are powerful things—they connect people to one another and to relevant causes. #GiveBR is the embodiment of a meaningful hashtag, connecting people locally or far away for the purpose of giving. #GiveBR’s goal is to harness the power of individuals, communities and organizations to encourage philanthropy and celebrate generosity in the Baton Rouge area.
A push for local donations under the #GiveBR umbrella will take place Tuesday, November 29, which also happens to be the National Day of Giving. The event is put on by the Louisiana Association of Nonprofit Organizations to help uplift local nonprofit organizations and highlight the work they do for the community.
The Arts Council of Greater Baton Rouge is also taking part in the event and invites the community to participate in Challenge 23!, which encourages people to donate $23 or more to support the Art Council’s 23 different art and cultural programs. The Art Council hopes to raise $6,000 this year during #GiveBR to help further enhance the quality of life in Baton Rouge through art.
