What to do this weekend: Krewe de Canines dog parade and costume contest
Amp up your Mardi Gras experience this year with the new Krewe de Canines dog parade and costume contest this Saturday, February 22. Taking place in the town of St. Francisville, this latest addition to the Carnival season will be filled with furry fun for everyone to enjoy.
Supporting the West Feliciana Animal Humane Society, this event will also feature on-site dog adoptions, giving dogs in need the opportunity to find their forever homes in time for Mardi Gras.
No dog? No problem. Thanks to the parade’s additional festivities, like stuffed animal contests, there is still plenty for those without furry friends to participate in.
Attendance is free for those with or without pups. Participation fees range from $10 for stuffed animals and $25 for parade entry and costume contests. Find more information on all the festivities here.
