The old-meets-new design of our February cover home will melt your heart
Some might say fate delivered the Hayden family’s new home into their lives. It was a fortuitous change from the 20 years spent at their former Lake Sherwood digs, where they had raised a family and made decades of memories. Sheila Hayden, who works in real estate, was driving by a gated neighborhood she often admired and discovered that one of the lots—usually quickly snapped up—had recently landed on the market. Calls were made, plans were drawn up, and a new build sprung into existence.
But not even the freshest paint in a brand-new structure can erase family history. The Haydens made quick work to decorate their space with plenty of family heirlooms and treasured possessions. Friend and Envy Interiors co-owner Stacy Johnson and Johnson’s design partner Stacey Davis worked with the Haydens to create an overall aesthetic that combined old and new within a light and bright theme.
